‘Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice’: Record-setting adaptation of beloved film coming to BJCC in May
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Broadway in Birmingham series is set to continue with the stage adaptation of a beloved cult classic.
“Beetlejuice,” based on Tim Burton’s 1988 film, is set for eight performances between May 6 and 11 at the BJCC Concert Hall.
After debuting at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre in April 2019, Beetlejuice won the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for its scenic design. The show, directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers, was itself nominated for eight Tony Awards, including Best New Musical.
Beetlejuice went on become one of the top grossing shows on Broadway, breaking the Winter Garden box office record.

Beetlejuice debuts at the BJCC Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 with nightly shows through the rest of that week. On Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11, the show takes the stage twice per day.
The Broadway in Birmingham Series just wrapped up Les Misérables at the end of March. In late June, Tiny: The Tina Turner Musical comes to the Concert Hall at the BJCC.
Shows already announced for the 2025-26 season include Wicked, Clue, Mrs. Doubtfire, and more.
