The unemployment rate in Napa County was 4.1% in March, down from a revised 4.3% in February, and above the year-ago estimate of 4.0%.
That compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.3% for California and 4.2% for the U.S. during the same period.
The data was reported Friday by the state Employment Development Department.
In March, Napa, San Luis Obispo and Placer counties tied for the seventh-lowest jobless rate among the 58 counties in California.
Sonoma County ranked 10th, Solano County 21st and Lake County ranked 41st. San Mateo County continued to have the lowest jobless rate in the state: 3.5%.
Napa employers with the most job ads were the Napa Valley Unified School District, Providence, Adventist Health, the state of California, Hyatt, Auberge, the Culinary Institute of America, The Estate Yountville, Treasury Wine Estates and Four Seasons.
Occupations with the most job ads for Napa County in March included registered nurses, retail salespersons, food service managers, home health and personal care aides, waitstaff, maids and housekeeping cleaners, bartenders, customer service representatives, first-line supervisors of retail sales workers, and general and operations managers.
Employment categories in Napa County with the most ads included health care and social assistance, accommodation and food services, manufacturing, retail trade, private educational services, wholesale trade, public administration, professional, scientific and technical services, finance and insurance, and real estate and rental and leasing.
