The capital of the People's Republic of China – Beijing – hosted events as part of the Year of Culture of Turkmenistan from June 4 to 7. On the occasion of the conclusion of the year, a concert took place featuring the chamber orchestra group of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, as well as teachers, students, and masters of arts who are part of this ensemble.
The concert program featured the chamber orchestra ensemble, formed under the leadership of Takhyr Atayev, senior lecturer of the "String Instruments" department of the "Orchestral Instruments" faculty of the Turkmen National Conservatory.
Joining the orchestra on stage were honored masters of Turkmen art: senior lecturers, "Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan" Professor Atageldi Garyagdyev, People's Artists of Turkmenistan – vocalist Atajan Berdiyev and bakhshi Almagul Nazarova, as well as Honored Art Workers of Turkmenistan – Amangeldi Amanov, Gozel Annakhanova, and dutar player Aigul Yagshyeva.
The concert opened with the chamber orchestra’s performance of the piece "Solemn Overture," composed by master composer Aman Agajykov.
Accompanied by the chamber orchestra, dutar player Aigul Yagshyeva virtuously performed several musical fragments from the well-known film "Shukur Bakhshi." Then, in a duet with singer Gozel Annakhanova, the song "Karkara" from the film "Secrets of Mukam" was performed. Aigul Yagshyeva also masterfully performed the Turkmen folk piece "Durdy Bakhshi."
Honored master vocalists performed during the concert. Amangeldi Amanov brilliantly sang the song "Turkmenistan Lalezar," composed by Nury Mukhadov; the "Wedding Song," written by Chary Nurymov with lyrics by Ata Atajanov; as well as the aria of Shabelet from the opera "Shasenem and Garyp" by Danatar Ovezov.
Performed by master Atageldi Garyagdyev were the songs "Ashgabat" by composer Nury Halmammedov, "Uyateyleyir" based on the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi, and the aria of Ezberhoji from the opera "Shasenem and Garyp," co-written by Danatar Ovezov and Yuliy Meitus.
These songs and arias were met with well-deserved applause from the audience. The concert continued with performances of Turkmen and Chinese folk and lyrical music.
During the concert, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, bakhshi Almagul Nazarova, virtuously performed the song "Daglara" together with the orchestra, as well as the aria "Girls, Raise the Chest" from the opera "Shasenem and Garyp."
People's Artist of Turkmenistan, master teacher Atajan Berdiyev, performed the song "Mama" – a piece by Chinese composer Yao Chen with lyrics by Ulykpan Zholdashev, dedicated to the friendly country. Then he performed the romance "Girl," created by Nury Halmammedov to the poetry of Mollanepes. Accompanied by the chamber orchestra, Gozel Annakhanova sang the Chinese folk song "Jasmine."
After several vocal performances, beautiful music filled the stage. The orchestra group, consisting of students and teachers under the direction of Takhyr Atayev, masterfully performed the piece "Scherzo" by composer Rovshen Nepesov and the Chinese folk melody "Guests from Afar," which made a deep impression on the audience.
In the final part of the concert, Atajan Berdiyev and Gozel Annakhanova performed the duets Ogulbeg and Danyatar, as well as Ailar and Charyar from the opera "Kemine and Kazy" ("The Poet and the Judge"), jointly created by Veli Mukhadov and Adrian Shaposhnikov. These pieces were met with enthusiastic applause.
Atageldi Garyagdyev brilliantly performed as the final number "Figaro's Aria" by G. Rossini, receiving warm applause. The concert concluded with all participants performing the song "Gel, Turkmenistana!" ("Come to Turkmenistan").
