'Republicans have no way to win': Fox News' Brit Hume explains how a Roy Moore victory could destroy the GOP

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said no matter what happens Tuesday in the Alabama Senate race, “Republicans really have no way to win.”

Hume was speaking with host Tucker Carlson about the “implications” the contentious election between conservative Roy Moore and “liberal Democrat” Doug Jones will have on GOP senators.

“On an ordinary night on a special election in Alabama, we would probably be calling this at 8 o’clock for the Republican,” Hume said. “But as you point out, this is no ordinary night.”

“There are two missiles that are heading toward Republicans in the U.S Senate, and those who may run for the job,” Hume continued. “And the only question is: which one is going to hit them?”

Hume said the first “missile”—Jones winning the Senate seat—means a tougher Congressional body to try and pass the party’s legislative agenda through. Hume noted that would be a “big deal.”

“If Roy Moore wins, they they probably have a political albatross around their neck, or at least someone that Democrats going forward will try to hang around their neck,” Hume surmised.

“This looks like a night in which the Republicans really have no way to win,” he said.
